Day two out in the field on the Mechanical Completion crew. We hit turbine E1 today and E2 will be tomorrow. I started out at the nacelle (large top box connected to tthe rotor and hub that house the propellers and rotors/enigine. First time on top of the turbine, quite a rush, fantastic view for miles. Working with Paul 1 (Paul Randal) and Paul 2 (Paul Davis). Paul 1 is the lead tech on the MC team, and Paul 2 is an MC tech withe about 2 years experience with turbines. We knocked out the close-out of the turbine by 5:15 which was great. I headed to Altus, OK after a quick shower and a phone call to Beth. I hit up the Walmart Superstore and the ... APPLEBEES!!!! First real meal in about four days. 39 minute drive back in the dark and ready for bed. Piece out.
Coming out the door in the top of the nacelle.
Paul 2 about to descend into the hub to get some clenaing done. Many hundreds of feet up. What a view.
Pinging the bolts, Paul 1 in effect making sure all bolts are torqued to the correct NewtonMeters.
Mountains in Oklahoma. The Majestic Mountians (Ozarks). Sure wish there were the Smokys.
How many Fig Newtons does it take to make a Newton Meter? Nacelle must be French or Latin for something...you know? Cary
